Mana for Days
*NOTE: This game was modified after the jam submission period to remove a joke (one of the causes of death) that I decided was in bad taste. No other changes were made.
A bullet-hell game about running out the two of most important resources of all: mana . . . and time.
Music: "Ludum Dare 28 Loops, Track 1" by Abstraction (http://www.abstractionmusic.com/). (downloaded from itch)

You know your in for a tough time when you only last 4 seconds. I got confused by the bullet theme and was trying every key to shoot till I realized what you meant, ha. Good work.
Yeah, I guess the bullets ended up being kinda random, thematically. I just needed something for the player to dodge, basically. Note to self: if you put bullets on the screen, people will want to shoot things.
Actually, one design I considered early on *was* to have enemies you could shoot at and then build a combat system around a central resource mechanic (mana), but most ideas I came up with in that direction felt either too complicated to finish in the jam period or unlikely to work well.
Thanks for playing!
